Who Should Be Referred?

Patients with:

  • Heart murmurs or abnormal heart sounds (gallop)

  • Cough, exercise intolerance, or syncope

  • Suspected or diagnosed heart failure

  • Arrhythmias or abnormal ECG findings

  • Breed predispositions (e.g., Dobermans, Cavalier King Charles, Maine Coon cats, etc.)

  • Pre-anesthetic evaluation with known cardiac risk

  • Cardiomegaly noted on radiographs

  • Abnormal cardiac biomarkers (proBNP, troponin)
