Brittany has always been inspired by Nurse Joy from the Pokémon anime, knowing from an early age that she wanted to care for families with non-traditional pets—just like the ones she grew up with.

After graduating from Maritime Business College in 2015, she embarked on her journey as a veterinary technician in a general practice that treated dogs, cats, birds, and herptiles. It was there that her passion for reptiles truly blossomed. She spent four years in emergency medicine before transitioning to an exotics-exclusive role within general practice. Now, she has found her home in Maritime’s exotic companion animal department, where she thrives.

Her favorite aspects of the job include working with a diverse range of patients, educating clients, and assisting in surgery.

When she’s not caring for animals, Brittany enjoys exploring Nova Scotia, hitting the gym, playing video games, and spending time with her beloved hairless cats.
