Originally from Bedford, Nova Scotia, Dr. Elford completed her Bachelor of Science degree, with a Major in Animal Sciences, at Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus in Truro, NS in 2017. After taking a few years to explore various careers within the animal science field, Dr. Elford knew veterinary medicine was where her true passion lay and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at St. George’s University and began her career as an Emergency Doctor at MVESC in 2025.

When Dr. Elford isn’t treating patients, she can be found doting on her beloved cats, Cedric and Suzy, spending time on her partner‘s farm, or reading a book. Dr. Elford is Fear Free certified and has a strong passion for critical care, surgery and an advocate for low-stress handling and care of her patients.
