Milka is a passionate veterinary assistant with a recently earned bachelor's degree in Bioveterinary Science from Dalhousie University. Originally from Ethiopia, Milka grew up surrounded by dogs that ignited her love for animals and inspired her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
With aspirations to attend veterinary school, Milka plans to specialize in exotics and wildlife medicine, driven by her commitment to animal welfare and conservation. Her hands-on experience includes volunteering in sea turtle conservation in Indonesia, as well as working in general veterinary practice and at Dalhousie's agriculture campus farm. These experiences have enriched her understanding of diverse animal care needs and deepened her dedication to the field.
In her free time, Milka enjoys reading, binge-watching TV shows, traveling, taking night walks, and dancing. Her well-rounded interests reflect her vibrant personality and commitment to both personal and professional growth.
Milka Hiruy is not only dedicated to the well-being of animals but also eager to contribute positively to the veterinary community, making a meaningful impact in the lives of both pets and their owners.
