Wynne Collins
Dr. Wynne Collins is a boarded Theriogenologist who has worked on cats, dogs, horses, and even rhinos! Born in the USA, Dr. Wynne has traveled and lived in many countries. After graduating from University College Dublin in 1998, she started working in equine practice and developed an interest in reproduction after working breeding seasons in Australia and Ireland. She then completed a residency in Theriogenology at the University of California, Davis, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists in 2005.
An interest in research led her to complete her PhD in Reproductive physiology of the Przewalski’s Horse at the University of Maryland. This led to a teaching position at the University of Queensland College of Veterinary Medicine from 2010 until 2016. After teaching, she started working in small animal Theriogenology in Indiana and Ontario.
Dr. Collins has developed a keen interest in small animal theriogenology over the years and has also increased her skills in neonatology. As this is an area that is needed in veterinary medicine, she hopes to expand these services to emergency and intensive care services at Maritime.
Dr. Collins is bringing her husband (Jeff), two daughters (Aoife and Fiona), two dogs (Fisher and Lily), and two cats (Kramer and Felonious Gru) to the Maritimes to settle and enjoy the ocean and the Atlantic lifestyle. They love to spend time outdoors, bike ride, and camp.
