What to Expect During Your Pet’s Theriogenology Appointment
All Theriogenology patients must be in good health and have record of a negative Brucellosis test within 2 months of the visit. Our team is happy to schedule a Brucellosis test for your pet’s first visit if you have not had one completed prior. All dogs being bred through the Theriogenology department are also required to be up to date on rabies vaccination. It is highly encouraged that breeding animals are current on all vaccinations.
Your pet’s appointment will begin with a complete breeding history followed by a physical exam and a discussion of your breeding goals. Next steps will depend on the reproductive procedure being performed as the number of visits varies depending on the type of procedure being done. An initial visit will be longer so that we can discuss breeding history, breeding plans, and other aspects that could impact breeding success and goals.
We offer frozen semen storage and shipment for our clients. Export services will grow depending on demand, so please enquire about where you wish to ship prior to scheduling a freeze as some countries require testing prior to semen freezing and storage.
If you have questions about other services, please contact us and we can discuss.
